Our Objectives
Why ASMAN Was Established ?
After more than three decades of providing quality education, St. Mary’s School had produced generations of accomplished graduates. However, there was no formal platform through which former students could stay connected, share experiences, and contribute collectively to society.
Recognizing this need, a group of alumnae envisioned an association that would strengthen relationships among former students while creating opportunities for social service and community development. This vision led to the formation of ASMAN.
Association of St. Mary’s Alumnae Nepal (ASMAN)
The Association of St. Mary’s Alumnae Nepal (ASMAN) is a non-governmental, non-profit organization established in 1990 by former students of St. Mary’s School, one of Nepal’s most respected educational institutions for girls.
Guided by the school’s motto, “For Knowledge, Virtue, and the Betterment of Society” ASMAN is dedicated to supporting underprivileged women and children across Nepal. Through various initiatives, the organization contributes to the fields of education, health, social welfare, cultural awareness, and community development. We serves as a platform that connects generations of St. Mary’s alumnae, fostering friendship, collaboration, and a shared commitment to social responsibility.
What ASMAN Stands For ?
ASMAN stands for the Association of St. Mary’s Alumnae Nepal. It is a non-profit organization formed by former students of St. Mary’s School with two key purposes:
Primary Purpose
To uphold the school’s ideals of knowledge, virtue, and service for the betterment of society.
Secondary Purpose
To promote the social, cultural, and academic development of its members while supporting the continued progress of St. Mary’s School.
The Beginning of ASMAN
The idea of ASMAN originated from informal gatherings of former St. Mary’s students who enjoyed reconnecting and sharing memories. These meetings gradually evolved into a larger vision—creating a permanent network where alumnae could support one another, exchange ideas, and work together for meaningful social causes.
With encouragement and support from the Sisters of St. Mary’s School, the alumnae took steps toward establishing a formal association. It was soon discovered that both the alumnae and the school shared a common vision, paving the way for the birth of ASMAN.
